If there's one thing I love about living in a small town, it's the fun summer festivals that go on. There are old historic, downtown tours of brothels and saloons. There are horse drawn carriage rides. There's a tiny little carnival set up, consisting of seven rides total. There are rodeos and jalapeno eating contests, street dances and the farmer's market. Best of all, I got to enjoy a day of the festivities with my very best friend and my dear ole husband.
Even though the wind was blowing a nasty storm in, we had a grand time walking the streets of the farmer's market, listening to a live band play country songs. I picked up some farm fresh corn on the cob and zucchini to freeze for winter zucchini bread!
Does your town have a summer festival? Do they have a farmer's market or a rodeo? What's your favorite activity. Let me know in the comments below!
