I have been dying to try art journaling ever since I first learned about it. I have watched a few tutorials and I've looked at countless pages from bloggers I admire. I still felt a little uncertain starting out.
I was having an off day and really needed some type of pick me up. It was the perfect time to start my art journal. I pulled out every happy color I could find in my stash and started piling them onto the page.
I filled my page with pretty things, with fun things that made me smile. I experimented with different layers and techniques I'd read about. I made use of my heat tool a lot. (Because I'm lazy...shhh!)
Once I stopped worry about whether I was "doing it right" or not I had a lot of fun. And you know what? It actually worked. It really did cheer me up and out of that rut.
I realized that I could have my own style of art journaling and that it would develop over time. Being able to play around with products and learn about their properties will allow me more freedom in other projects.
I can't wait to get started on another page. I have so many ideas I want to play around with. If you'd like to start art journaling I highly recommend you check out these blogs for inspiration.
