Money Saving Monday - Craft Fail and Homemade Detergents

So, I had this super cute wreath all planned out. I was going to make it, and it was going to rock, and I was going to blog about it. Oh, and did I mention that it would be cheap? Hence the appropriate nature of said wreath for Money Saving Monday...

Unfortunately, I ran into SO many problems trying to put that wreath together! I obviously need to iron out some kinks before I can recommend it on my blog. I wouldn't want all of you dealing with the same problems.

Instead, I present to you homemade laundry soap!

I have been seeing this all over Pinterest, and I am so curious about it. We use liquid laundry soap, and my husband is allergic to pretty much anything but Cheer, so I'm not sure if I will be trying this out, but I think it's a fantastic idea if you are looking to save a little money. Why don't you head over to Being Creative To Keep My Sanity to see the super easy recipe.

While you are there, be sure to look at the recipe for homemade dishwasher detergent

I envy those of you who can make homemade dishwasher detergent. I don't think it would do me any good unless I find a tutorial for a homemade dishwasher... oh yeah, that's me!

Well, I'm off to finish addressing our Christmas cards. What are you up to during this holiday season? Have you had any crafting fails? Let me know in the comments below!

I've been stalking all these homemade detergent recipes - I'm definitely planning to make some after the big move.

It isn't really a craft fail until you post pictures of the horror though. Until then, it's simply a delayed finding the best method craft. ;)
Be careful with homemade dishwasher detergent. Some models of dishwasher never work as good if you use the wrong thing in them! (I've heard more horror stories over homemade rinseaid though)

LOL! I actually HAVE a dishwasher and NEVER use it. Only at the holidays, if I have a big crowd. Otherwise, the "dishwasher" is my new hubby. Awww....isn't he sweet!? Liked your post, though!
